Getting ready…

We’re busy preparing for Taunton Carnival 2025. The date for your diaries is Saturday 18th October 2025, we’ll be starting at 7pm!

The route: There will be no changes this year to the route for Taunton Carnival. The procession will leave Tangier Way however performances from entrants will only start from the third way bridge. From there it will proceed to Wood Street, turn right onto Bridge Street, up North Street and at the roundabout outside of the Market House will take the first exit onto East Street before going down over East Reach and it will finish at the traffic lights at the bottom of East Reach.

Road Closures: The closures also carry no changes this year. Tangier Way (from the bridge near Tesco, to the Scout and Guide Centre, to the Churchill Retirement Home) will be closed from 2:30pm to allow the entrants to prepare. The roads through the town centre will then close at 6:30pm to allow spectators to line the streets safely. Please read our separate article on Road Closures and our new parking suspensions for more information.

The procession: This year, we will be welcoming back the Windy Wheelers motorcycle group to lead the procession. They will set off from Tangier Way at 7pm. They will follow around 65 entrants which will form our 2025 procession this year. We will be welcoming new carnival clubs as well as old. Brilliant walking entries, fantastic floats and much more!

Charities: It’s worth remembering that at Taunton Carnival, when you put money into our collection tin, you make a donation to charity and to the future of carnival too. This year we will be joined by a whole range of collectors who are all looking to raise money for their charities and local organisations. There will also be QR codes where you can donate via PayPal.

Sponsors: This year, we have many fantastic sponsors on board. Taunton Carnival’s gold sponsor this year is the fabulous and local Taunton Home Tech, we must thank Simon from Taunton Home Tech for his ongoing support and dedication to bringing entertainment to the community of Taunton which is something he and the committee have in common. We are very pleased to also have Somerset Jobs Ltd, Taylor Wimpey, Carly Press, Parker Services, 360 South West and Imagination Station to our group of sponsors this year, who are supporting bringing such a big event to the town and by doing so, supporting all the amazing entries that you will see!
