It’s the Third Saturday in October – Taunton Carnival Day!
There is a parade of vintage cars led by Miss Taunton, Sabrina King, the Carnival Queen and Princess Jemima Gee from Priory Bridge Road to High Street at 9.45am to begin a day of activities there. The cars will be joined by Harley Davidson Motorcycles and will all be on display throughout the day.
Sound and colour will come from street musicians sponsored by Mecca Bingo and the Bootstrap Boarder Morris Dancers who will entertain with several shows.
Guess the Weight of The Mayor! Cllr Sue Lees will be in High Street between 11am and 1230pm and has generously donated a prize for the person most closely guessing how much she weighs. There are prizes on offer from the Tombola and other competitions.
Although there is no Evening Procession several Carnival Clubs are showing costumes from years past.
Come to High Street on Saturday and join in the fun!
